My son wants to be a doctor and I have been looking for a comprehensive human body unit. I love how detailed and comprehensive this notebook is for students. Students will get in-depth lessons on every aspect of the human body. If you have aspiring physician I recommend this notebook.

  2. Denise Rodriguez

I really love the lay out for this notebook companion. It follows along with book well. The answer key in the back gives you the page numbers to reference for all questions if you need any help. This has been more in depth than some of the curriculum we have used, which has been wonderful because I have a child who really seeks to find as much information about the body as she can. Recommendation is for grade 5 and up, I find this to be the right age.

  3. Erin Burchett

From my title, this notebook is to the point. Students are asked to do something with the information they take in from their text and by the time they record in writing or drawing they are retaining what they need to know. It’s that easy. Plus notebooking is how many historical greats self educated and so I believe it to be an effective method for learning.

  4. Lynn

Oh! I do like this notebook companion! It’s open-and-go, straightforward to use and directs the student to specific pages in the main text, “Inside the Human Body”, to complete the activities. There are questions to answer, vocabulary words to write definitions for, spaces to draw and also templates of Venn diagrams, charts and tables to fill in and diagrams of more complicated body parts (skeleton, heart, lungs, etc) to label – I love this! There are also templates to help you plan and conduct the experiments listed in the book for each chapter using the scientific method.

Topics in the book and notebook companion include an introduction to studying the human body, cells, muscles and bones, the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, nervous system, endocrine system, digestive system, reproductive system (general questions only) and healthy bodies (skin, immune system, urinary system).

Additional helps include tips on notebooking, a note to parents regarding sections in the main text that you may want to pre-read to ensure suitability for your child, links to free downloads on human anatomy from the sister website, homeschoolgiveaways.com, which your student may like to use to add to their notebook or for further research, and an answer key with the location of the answers in the main text.

    Would recommend!

This is such a cool notebooking companion! Each chapter includes several new vocabulary words. I love that it has the vocabulary words before going into the actual chapter. After defining the vocabulary words, it goes into the actual chapter. It breaks it down by pages, such as read pages 8-10 then answer the following questions. The book itself has so much information, that this is a great way to slow down and start to absorb the information as well a great way to start learning what is important for note taking purposes. There are less spaces to draw than many of the other notebooking companions, but I feel there is so much more information to be gathered. The book is a fantastic resource that will be great for 5th grade and up. There is SO much information. It would definitely be a great book and notebook companion for a middle schooler and high schooler. I love that at the very end of this notebook companion there are printable vocabulary cards for creating your own flash cards as well as an answer key that does not tell you the answer but which page and paragraph to find the answers on your own. Great for the individual thinking process.

This anatomy notebook is very comprehensive and organized! But before you get overwhelmed with all the questions, the answer key is included at the back detailing where exactly in the book you can find the answers. You can pace the book and do a chapter a week or more if you need to. There is so much to jot down and learn. There are spaces for drawing and for short and long answers. Labeling and diagramming activities are also included inside. Science terms can be a bit tricky–vocabulary cards are provided near the end which you can use with your child. The corresponding chapter wherein the term is discussed is listed as well.

This notebook is recommended for grades 5 and up, but I think younger students who are very interested in anatomy can benefit from it as well as the discussion questions are easy to understand.
