Like many homeschooling resources, there is no set grade level. Kids of all ages will enjoy Nature Anatomy, Farm Anatomy, Ocean Anatomy, and Food Anatomy because they are beautifully illustrated books full of interesting facts and hand-drawn illustrations. The notebook companions will work best with students in 3rd grade and up, but they are meant to be very flexible.

Many homeschooling families who enjoy unit studies and piecing their own curriculum together use The Julia Rothman Collection + Notebook Companions to create a full science curriculum for elementary students by adding in additional resources.

Here’s an example of how one might do so:

When you get to the section on whales in Ocean Anatomy you would use it alongside the Ocean Notebook and add in some extra books about whales, do a research paper on a specific whale type, and watch some videos for a complete study on whales.

Each book offers many opportunities to dive deeper into a topic. By adding in hands-on projects, free printables (we have a lot of cooresponding free printables at Homeschool Giveaways), watching videos, reading additional books, etc. you will have a blast exploring the science topics found throughout the books!

Our notebook companions are completely self-paced, so you can take as long as you'd like to work through them. 

The Birding Notebook is a companion to Audubon Birding Adventures for Kids, sold separately.

1. Digital products are NON-REFUNDABLE. However, we are happy to chat with you if you have concerns, have made a duplicate purchase, want to upgrade your order to a bundle, or generally have other concerns.

2. Opened, printed/physical delivery materials (shrink-wrap removed) cannot be returned.

3. You must contact us for a return authorization of your unopened (shrink wrap intact) order.

4. For physical/print products, change of heart returns are discouraged, however completely unopened material may be returned with a 30% re-stocking fee within 30 days of shipping.The customer will be required to package the item thoroughly and pay return shipping, including insurance. Once the item is inspected and deemed in “like-new condition”, you will receive a refund at 70% of the full price less any the value of any DIGITAL related content. If you purchase a Digital + Print product, your refund will be less the cost of that digital product alone as digital products are non-refundable.

5. When returning a like-new/unopened product for a 70% refund, you MUST use a NEW box. The original box will be too weakened by the original shipment to be used again. If a new box is not used, the box will be “returned to sender” unopened and no refund will be processed.

6. If a return is received that is NOT like-new and has been opened (shrink-wrap removed), the purchaser can pay return shipping BACK to themselves or receive a refund amount at the discretion of Daily Skill Building. Items without shrink-wrapping or with ANY DAMAGE that cannot be sold as new will receive no more than a 50% refund. These items cannot be re-sold. If you have opened your items, please resale them as used rather than returning them.

7. If you are concerned about technical issues before purchase, please make sure that you have access to a desktop or laptop computer upfront that can run Adobe Reader.  If those terms are new to you, we encourage you to find a friend or family member to help with this aspect. YouTube is a great resource for “how to” technical videos.

8. Please make sure that you have a way to print the products from Daily Skill Building. Many of our products are DIGITAL ONLY. You can read some insight and recommendations for printing here. Each item indicates the number of pages for that product in the product description.

9. We do NOT issue refunds for missed sales or coupon codes. Please be diligent upfront in placing your order.

We currently ship orders 2 days per week. During peak months (May-Sept), we ship 3+ times per week. Please know that EXPEDITED SHIPPING does not accelerate WHEN your product will ship. You're simply upgrading your method to USPS Priority rather than Media Mail.

We ship as orders as received and do not prioritize based on shipping method selected.

ALL MISSING ORDERS AND/OR DAMAGED ITEMS MUST BE REPORTED AS MISSING OR DAMAGED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE ORDER DATE. WE CANNOT ASSIST WITH MISSING OR DAMAGED PRODUCTS IF NOT REPORTED WITHIN THAT 30 DAY TIME FRAME.

Please be aware that if you choose USPS Media Mail (ie economy) that these shipments are currently taking upwards of 3 weeks to arrive with little to no accurate tracking information.

Due to COVID-related delays, the USPS is NOT scanning items as they are received and tracking is unreliable and extremely limited. Furthermore, all USPS modes are taking up to 2x-3x their normal time to be delivered. If you choose USPS Media Mail, I cannot be held liable for delays.

If your product has been in the USPS system for 40 days and has NOT been scanned or received, you may request a refund or a replacement which we will send to you via UPS Ground (typically 3-5 days).

We will not offer a refund until your item has been in the carrier’s hands for at least 40 days for USPS.
