Help your students learn about World War II through the words of three of the period’s key leaders—Winston Churchill, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and President Harry S. Truman. This set of copywork includes an excerpt of Winston Churchill’s “We Shall Fight on the Beaches” speech to the House of Commons; President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s speech to Congress following the attack on Pearl Harbor, an excerpt of his fireside chat regarding the declaration of war with Japan, and his “D-Day Prayer” radio address; and an excerpt of President Harry S. Truman’s radio addresses announcing the surrender of Germany and the surrender of Japan.
Two copywork units are included, enabling you to use the collection for both print and cursive handwriting practice. Each version includes 150+ pages that are perfect for copywork or dictation. All copywork is provided to trace and to copy, and blank lines are also included.
