Daily Skill Building: U.S. Geography
Daily Skill Building: U.S. Geography Resource Pack Sample (charts with key information about each state, state fact cards and state map cards, and answer keys).
Geography deepens a student’s learning and appreciation of the world around them. In a recent National Geographic Society survey of U.S. educators, 62% of participants said teaching geography was “extremely important.” But that doesn’t mean teaching it has to be extremely difficult or time consuming.
Daily Skill Building: U.S. Geography was created with busy homeschool moms in mind. The easy-to-use, open and go format encourages independent learning for children in grades 3-6. Build confidence and geography skills with this fun curriculum!
Students will explore the United States of America and learn the state capitals, when each state became a state, the state flower, state bird, state tree, and much more for all 50 states.
Each week, students will learn about two states, do map work, draw and color (or paste) a picture of each state’s flag, and write a short research paper (this is an optional 5th day).

I noticed my 4th grader was referring to some states and cities as “countries” and knew I needed to get him a U.S. Geography resource ASAP. The problem is that our schedule is already packed, so I needed something simple that could be done 100% independently in less than 30 minutes each day. This U.S. Geography curriculum was a wonderful solution!

This is an ideal curriculum for any classroom or student that wants to learn or review the basics of the states in the U.S.A. I think it would be easy to use as a core curriculum and then add on additional books or exploration. I think having the appendix with review mapwork and other mastery quizzes makes it perfect for basic state study. This would also be a useful resource for someone who needs to do a state research paper, especially having the additional resource pack. I would 100% recommend this material to anyone who is looking for an affordable beginning U.S. Geography study. Read full review here.

I love how simple this is to use for my 5th grade son. He knows what to do and since the charts are included, he can do it on his own. We do use an atlas alongside it so that he can discover more interesting facts about each state. I feel it is a great way to learn basic U.S. geography.
