Holly Carter –
This Notebook Companion and the book that I purchased separately go perfectly together, hand in hand. The beautiful illustrations and detail in the book allows for a level of learning that is strengthened when using these two resources together. I have purchased all of these journals in this series because we love these so much! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!
Karen Koehler –
The World of Rocks Notebook is an excellent companion to the book A Rock Is Lively. It offers students an opportunity to record what they learn through reading the book. The open-ended questions have enough space for students to answer in complete sentences. Children also show what they are learning through drawing pictures. The boxes for the drawing are large, so students have plenty of space. Students are asked to draw and label parts of their diagrams, which is a helpful skill in future science classes. Another great feature of the notebook is the coloring pages at the back. The World of Rocks Notebook allows students to showcase what they learn from A Rock is Lively. It is a fun notebook to work in and, once completed, can be saved for future research projects in other classes because it covers each chapter in depth.
