Exploring the Deep, Dark Sea by Gail Gibbons

Our publisher-approved Notebook Companion™ accompanies Exploring the Deep, Dark Sea by Gail Gibbons.

Your kids can dive deep with Gail Gibbons as she explains the mechanics and discoveries of deep-sea exploration. Did you know that we know more about the surface of the moon than we do the deep sea of our own planet? Many oceanographers have made it their mission to change that. They climb into submersibles and employ remotely operated vehicles to find out more about the ocean and ocean floor.

In Exploring the Deep, Dark Sea, Gail Gibbons takes readers along for a journey into the depths of the ocean. Readers will learn about the various kinds of animals found at the different levels of the sea. Gibbons uses clearly-labeled diagrams, infographics, and accessible language to explain the technology of exploration and the many fascinating discoveries scientists have made in the darkest corners of the ocean. This is the perfect introduction for aspiring oceanographers, marine biologists, and conservationists!

Exploring the Deep, Dark Sea is a required book for our Notebook Companion™ and is sold separately. Exploring the Deep, Dark Sea by Gail Gibbons is available at the publisher’s website or anywhere books are sold.

If you have a budding oceanographer, this is the book and notebook for you! It is packed full of information and not just your regular fish facts. Your kids will learn about the twilight zone, the abyss, and about exploring the deep, dark sea. Even Leonardo da Vinci is included in the book! I am very intrigued already. Coloring pages include the sort of fish you will find way below (not the cutesy ones!).

This notebook is not for the faint-hearted. I recommend this book and notebook for the adventurous and always curious kid.
